Assemblyman Jim Tedisco (R,C,I-Schenectady-Saratoga) today was named a “Hero of Reform” by former NYC Mayor Ed Koch and New York Uprising.
Tedisco signed all three of New York Uprising’s reform pledges which covered Independent Redistricting, Ethical Government and Responsible Budgeting.
“The power of our government belongs to the people not special interests. That’s why I’ve championed reform long before it was the cool thing to do,” said Tedisco. “I proudly signed New York Uprising’s three pledges to reform state government and look forward to working with Mayor Koch and New York Uprising to bring accountability, transparency and greater openness to Albany.”
Tedisco is a long-time reform advocate and has pushed for many efforts to let the light into the legislative process and open-up the rules of the Assembly to give rank-and-file lawmakers more power to fight for their constituents. He is sponsoring legislation (A.10284) to lose one day’s pay until the end of the year for legislators for each day the state budget is late.
“I applaud Assemblymember James Tedisco as a “Hero of Reform” for signing the three New York Uprising pledges. Thi
