2010 budget kicks the can to future generations of taxpayers

Assemblyman Jim Tedisco (R,C,I-Schenectady-Saratoga) today called the 2010 state budget “a bad reality show” that raises taxes again and adds more debt onto the backs of families and businesses.

“It’s been three months and it seems we have a budget.  If this were a reality TV show, it would have been canceled after one week and not allowed to run on for three months.  Unfortunately, this is not bad reality TV.  This budget affects real people who need real relief not more taxes, more borrowing, more one-shot deals, and more inflated projections of revenues that may not exist,” said Tedisco.

“This year’s late budget was devised in secret by ‘Two Men in a Room’ – the Assembly Speaker and Senate Conference Leader, and does nothing more than kick the can down the road for future generations of taxpayers,” said Tedisco.

“They have kicked the can down the road so much it has rusted out and continues to leak huge amounts of taxpayer dollars,” said Tedisco.
